First quarter(Q1-2011) business report on Bollywood films

It was the first quarter of Indian business industry which did not see much uprising in first quarter. For Telecom it was the leak of Radia tape and other corruption charges in 2G spectrum distribution, for finance it was European economic downturn along with Japan disaster and in the film-industry it was World-cup which was promising more entertainment than film industry since India was favorite to win.

But still it was few filmmakers who dared to release their films and did well in their business. Though they missed the contribution of Tear 2 and Tear 3 cities but still did reasonable well in Metros.

These are couple of films which has done some business:-
No one killed Jessica’s budget was 9 crore rupees and it’s gross revenue stood up to 35  crore rupees. Patiala house and Tanu Weds Manu’s budget was 21 crore and 17.5 crore rupees respectively and their gross was 32 crore and 39 crore rupees. Other films like Dhobi ghat, Dil to Bachha hai Ji, Ye saali jindagi and 7 khoon maaf even casted good actors and directed by one of the most respected filmmakers of industry but could not do much profit. Still were able to manage with no profit loss. For rest first quarter was disaster and film business was in huge loss.
